    Initiate a critical reflection on architectural thought in the contemporary World (XX-XXI century), on the place of architect and the architect and his material and immaterial production; discuss contemporary vicissitudes and scenarios generated and rapid changes in the human world and its immediate and future impact in the field of architecture and other related areas of knowledge. related areas of knowledge; know the events that have destabilised western societies; analyse the problems of the the evolution of forms, space, dwelling, and the alternation of abstract/concrete and theoretical/practical; respond to the methodological methodological issues raised by the constant transformation of what is understood by architecture and its relationship with culture and society; understand the society; understand the historical evolution of ideas and values and its consequence in the ways of thinking, discussing and making architecture.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    The course contents will be developed through expository/participatory lectures that aim to discuss with the students the fundamental theoretical elements for a critical analysis of phenomena of reality and man. The course unit will be assessed by active participation in class (10%), individual written assignments to be presented in class for that purpose (40%) and at least one written test (50%). The assessment of knowledge is governed by the ISMAT's regulation of knowledge assessment available at www.ismat.pt/index.php/documentos-on-line/category/7-regulamentos
