ApresentaçãoPresentationContinue the work started in the 1st semester, introducing greater complexity and knowledge in the domain of creative thinking, techniques, and crafts associated with the Design process. The objectives are: • Creation of a research dossier, aimed to serve as a stimulus and inspiration for the development of concepts; • Deepen the knowledge already acquired in the domain of thinking, process, techniques, and crafts learned in the first semester and now applied to the project challenge of this UC; • Interpretation and decoding of purely conceptual objects, which directly or indirectly stimulate the students’ imagination to respond to the project challenge presented in the UC; • Creation of visual meanings developed using text, images, and graphics, along with the creation of non-objects; • Stimulate conceptual thinking, both in the non-object phase and in the object phase; • Foster a personal visual discourse, with enough maturity for concrete decision-making.

ProgramaProgrammeS01 “Cusiosité” – Curiosity Stimulation Model: • Presentation of the Model: Exploration, Association, Application, and Combination of ideas S02 Informed Creativity: • Exploration of information • Association of creative stimuli – direct and lateral • Application of stimuli to new concepts • Combination of concepts to generate new ideas S03 Conditioned Creativity: • Creation of categories for selective exploration • Association between categories to merge creative stimuli • Experimentation with new ideas within new categories and attempts to apply them as responses to the project challenge • Combination of applied ideas within the project S04 Applied Creativity: • Exploration of the created narrative • Materialization of the Idea and Narrative into non-objects • Creation of the Design Object S05 Creativity with Impact: • Design of pieces and communication materials for the concept, narratives, and final Object • Structuring of the exhibition space for presenting the Objects created by the Students

ObjectivosObjectivesThe Design Office II curricular unit aims to develop advanced skills in the creative process. Students should: O1 - Understand the stages of the creative process, with a special focus on conceptualization, exploring models, techniques, and tools to structure innovative ideas. O2 - Apply these models in the development of design projects, ensuring narrative coherence and a clear guiding thread, both in physical objects and in immaterial realities. O3 - Critically analyze the results, adjusting proposals based on the perception and appreciation of the ideas presented. O4 - Evaluate concepts and arguments, supporting creative decisions through a well-founded discourse. O5 - Finally, they will be challenged to create new realities, effectively communicating them so they can be experienced immersively, strengthening their ability to construct and defend visual and conceptual narratives in design.

MetodologiaMethodologyThe course unit is based on active and innovative pedagogical practices: M01 – Hands-on – In every class, students research, conceptualize, and apply knowledge in the constructive development of "Cusiosité." M02 – WorldBuilding – An approach focused on creating complete universes, widely used in science fiction and speculative design. In this methodology, we construct an imaginary teaching context, reinforcing the objective of enabling students to conceptualize and materialize ideas. This process transitions from the Non-Object to the Object, with the final object being a utopian, real, or deconstructed scenario imagined and built by each student.
