ApresentaçãoPresentation?Form Founding? project development 1. Diagnosis / Research; 2. Non-objective experimentation; 2.1 Form Founding 2D - Creation of three-dimensional alphabets from primitive geometries. - Plastic experimentation of materials - Manual and laser cut prototyping 2.2 Form Founding 3D - Creation of surfaces/objects from appropriation and shapes (nature, art,...) - Plastic experimentation of organic and synthetic materials. - Rapid prototyping in 3D printing 3. Experimental objective; 4. Design / presentation of the solution.

ProgramaProgrammeUnderstanding the morphology of alphabetic signs based on their construction technique. Development of the capacity for formal management of signs according to the possibilities established by different tools, variations imposed by the proportions, the different means and supports for the construction of writing. Increase in the ability to identify and extrapolate, synthesizing, basic geometric shapes. Transformation of the same by alteration of: point of observation, matter in movement and occasional and/or not compositions, generated by the natural environment. Extrapolation of artificial matter, interpretation of results and definition of research and experimentation areas. Formal combinations. Awareness of limitations, representations and proposal to experiment with alternative means of capturing form and their evolution using different materials.

ObjectivosObjectives? Finding, surveying, recording, sketching two- and three-dimensional representations. ? Spontaneous exploration and mutations over shape states. Perception and senses. ? Semantic value of shapes, creation of affinity codes. Decoding, emotional approach and its representativeness by contrast. ? Accurate experimentation and application of concepts to concrete proposals for spaces for interaction. ? Passage from the graphic to the sculptural element. From 2D to 3D, transforming the linguistic alphabet/code into an object that, in a eurythmic way, brings together the exploration of the material, the senses and the performative act.

MetodologiaMethodologyThis curricular unit is practical and laboratory, based on methodologies and active pedagogical practices: Project based learning and Learning by doing. Active techniques and tools such as: Discussion ground rules - developing an inclusive environment by working with students to create ground rules for discussion. Techniques will also be used to stimulate creative exploration, such as: creativity through the arts; sensory engagement, lateral thinking, mind maps. The evaluation of the UC has a continuous character that focuses on attendance, participation, meeting deadlines and commitment to the proposed work. The challenges proposed for the semester are mostly individual, classified as exploratory to stimulate research, creativity and innovation. The evaluation moments are defined by the teachers and are mandatory.
