    This curricular unit aims to provide general training in the field of scientific knowledge in a fundamentalarea of Psychology - Child and Adolescent Psychopathology. In order to be able to intervene in childhood and adolescence, knowledge about normal development is of crucial importance, as well as the acquisition of knowledge of developmental psychopathology and the development of diagnostic skills. The training in diagnosing, as well as the identification of predisposing, precipitating, protective and maintenance factors make it possible to develop and adjust the strategy in terms of promoting mental health and preventing and intervening in mental illness.

  • ObjectivosObjectives
    It is intended that students acquire skills that allow them to: Come to understand the concepts of Developmental Psychopathology; Identify risk and protective factors; Differentiate the forms of expression of disturbances throughout the development process; Know the most frequent Psychological Disorders in childhood and adolescence; Develop skills in using descriptive and structural classifications and on observation methods in childhood and adolescent psychopathology.

    The methodologies used include: Active methodologies based on theoretical-practical classes, based on problem solving with a view to analysis, interpretation, presentation, discussion of cases and carrying out simulation/roleplay exercises. Learning from an interdisciplinary perspective. Tutoring, self-monitoring and personal and professional development activities. Internet-based learning (E-Based Learning), through Moodle.
