    This curricular unit covers the territory's natural characteristics and its relationship with architecture.
  • ProgramaProgramme
    1. Concepts and fundamentals of physical geography. 2. Evolution of cartographic representations. 3. Types of projections and cartographic information. 4. Global positioning system. 5. Architecture and topography: adaptation of solutions to the territory. 6. Territory relief's representation and the logic of building implantation and circulation roads according to natural constraints. 7. Digital graphic representation and geographic information systems. 8. Techniques of territorry's graphic representation. 9. Territorial management rules and hierarchy of planning plans. 10. National reserves, RAN and REN - concept and legislation and its link with other management tools.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    a) Acquire knowledge focused on the subject's physical geography. b) Understanding of space and territory identifying the relationship between architecture and nature. c) Acquire knowledge and awareness to the natural characteristics of the territory and its influence on architecture. Relationship identification: topography and architecture, natural shape and built shape, architecture and climate. d) Acquire skills that will allow reading and understanding of the territory's graphic representations. e) Introduction of digital tools for territory's graphic expression. f) Acquire knowledge and practical application of building implantation logic in the territory through solutions adapted to the topography. g) Handling of different planning and management instruments and of their different applicability scales.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    Geoggraphy II is a theoretical-practical class, and will have personalized support for the development of practical work from its inception to its presentation. It has a component aimed at the active participation of students, where they will have to investigate and present in class various subjects included in the course syllabus. The course follows the continuous assessment method and the final classification will be based on the practical work, the knowledge assessment test, attendance and class participation.
