    The aim of this CU is to provide students with specific knowledge and skills about History of Art, addressing its various movements in the context of Fashion Design.

    Analysing paintings from different historical periods, taking into account symbolic, cultural, philosophical and innovative thinking. -Classical civilisations -Middle Ages -Renaissance -Baroque -Classicism?the author as authority -Romanticism -Academicism -Impressionism - Modernism -Realism -Surrealism and Dadaism -Bauhaus -Minimalism -1980s  -1990s  -21st century  
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    On completion of this CU, students will - Have broadened their general culture in the fields of art and fashion history, familiarizing themselves with the main historical references. - Understand the different regimes of passage (between creative disciplines and throughout history) - Identify, recognize and distinguish historical references in the clothing industry and understand the importance of images from the past in contemporary production. - Develop critical and discursive thinking based on the history of art in relation to fashion design.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    This theoretical course is based on analysing images from the History of Art, the criteria for which are: artists of reference in the historical period under study and the use of clothing in the scenes depicted and textiles in the sets. The period is also characterised by watching films and other artistic works, etc. In class, comparisons are made with the recent present and a collective and critical debate is held.
