    The CU Research Methods I: Observational Methods aims to introduce students to the theoretical foundations of scientific knowledge, as well as to develop their skills in conducting and analyzing scientific articles and other forms of scientific knowledge production. Teaching is based on lectures complemented by guided and autonomous practical training. This CU is designed to complement future units such as Data Analysis in Psychology and Research Methods II: Experimental Methods. The best research projects developed in this course will be presented by their authors at the XI JIICP

    LO1: To provide information on the foundations and basic characteristics of research in Psychology, on the methodological analysis and critique of the scientific literature, and on the theoretical-methodological discussion of specific issues and problems in the field of Psychology. LO2: To provide information on the stages involved in the development of research projects, through the systematic study of fundamental processes and specific strategies for research planning. LO3: To understand and apply the steps in designing research projects, research methodologies in Psychology, the critical interpretation of scientific articles from specialized journals, as well as the planning, development, and scientific writing of a research project. LO4: To promote the ability for critical reflection on specific issues and problems in the field of research in Psychology, through the critical interpretation of scientific articles from specialized journals.
