    The Organization and Management of Sports Entities Curricular Unit (CU) aims to contribute to the training of qualified staff in the field of Sports who can intervene: -in the design, organization, promotion and implementation of sports projects and programs that aim to promote and generalize physical activity, as an essential instrument for improving the physical condition, quality of life and health of citizens. -in the different sports organizations of the Portuguese sports system, in the public or private sector, namely, in sports associations, educational institutions, gyms, academies or health clubs (healthclubs) and other entities that operate in the field of sport.

  • ObjectivosObjectives
    IL1: Know the different sports organizations in the Portuguese sports system and their legal framework. IL2: Understand the organization of sport in Europe with a view to promoting sport as an important factor in human development. IL3: Identify models for designing, organizing and implementing projects and programs for sporting and leisure activities in different sporting organizations. IL4: Know sport financing mechanisms, such as patronage and sponsorship and legal aspects associated with them. IL5: Recognize the different human resources at the service of sports organizations and their legal framework. IL6: Acquire knowledge about the economic impact of sport. IL7: Recognize the importance of ethics in sports organizations.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    The UC will take place in a system of theoretical classes using lectures and theoretical-practical classes on the application of theoretical knowledge to practical contexts of Sports Management, through case studies and guided discovery.Tools such as the Moodle platform and multimedia resources that promote learning will be used.Students will undertake written assessments, individual and group work to develop their skills in this area.
