ObjectivosObjectivesThe course unit aims to analyze the relationship between Sustainable Design and the current Fashion industry at both national and international levels. This unit seeks to convey the principles of Sustainable Design, to study and correlate fashion with other fields of knowledge at the socio-economic and environmental levels. Additionally, it introduces research into sustainable possibilities at different stages of the design process: choice of materials, production/manufacturing processes, packaging, logistics, commercial strategy, and social impact. It also emphasizes understanding the importance of paradigm shifts: analyzing reference cases to encourage students to view this area of design as a business opportunity with the goal of expanding the social responsibility of brands and designers toward their consumers. Students are expected to be able to consciously carry out projects for Sustainability, taking into account the impacts across all stages of a product’s life cycle.
