    The UC is located at the intersection of the field of Design with other related areas, such as Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology, Sociology, Management, Urbanism, Culture. In the general context of the course, it aims to promote the theoretical basis for the development of the activity of Design in contemporary society, in a holistic and transdisciplinary way. It is inserted in the context of understanding the territory, culture, heritage, communities and nations, their history and development, and the exercise of thinking and designing the future of society.

  • ObjectivosObjectives
    At the end of this semester, students must: Have basic knowledge about authors and areas of knowledge related to Design; Be able to explore and express themselves in the fields of knowledge directly and indirectly related to the area of competence of contemporary Design; Understand the extent of the insertion of Design in contemporary society; Be able to understand and synthesize knowledge from reading texts, making use of tools such as diagrams, mind maps, keywords, citing references.
