The Master’s in Visual Arts Education event brings together experts from Portugal, Brazil, Angola, and France to discuss contemporary pedagogy.

Training, Teaching, and Practices: The 1st National & 1st International Colloquium on Visual Arts Education: Training, Teaching, and Practices serves as a unique forum for dialogue among researchers, faculty, students, and professionals engaged with the complex intersections between artistic creation, pedagogy, and the contemporary world.

Organized by ISMAT’s Master’s Program in Visual Arts Education, the event offers a critical immersion in the challenges shaping the field of Visual Arts today. Themes and Objectives: The event seeks to foster in-depth reflections on teacher training and the transformations of pedagogical practices in art, considering contemporary modes of image production, circulation, and interpretation.

Through the sharing of experiences and research, the colloquium aims to strengthen institutional and academic cooperation networks, forging closer ties between national and international scientific communities. International Dimension and Cooperation: One of the pillars of this event is its geographical and intellectual diversity.

The Scientific Committee is composed of leading researchers affiliated with prestigious institutions in Portugal, Brazil, Angola, and France. This multicultural network ensures the academic rigor of the discussions and promotes a transcontinental dialogue essential for understanding arts education in global and local contexts.

Event Format and Publication: The program combines lectures by invited experts with coordinated presentation sessions, designed for the presentation of research (completed or in progress) and reports on pedagogical practices in Arts Education.

To ensure the continuity of the event’s discussions and contributions, all papers presented and approved by the committee will be included in a digital publication (eBook) with an ISBN, ensuring the dissemination and scientific recognition of the shared work.
