“Inside the Frame: Experiences in Shorts and Animation – creative practices centred on self-retrospection” is a showcase of short films and animations that brings together a selection of projects developed in recent years in the Bachelor’s Degree in Design at ISMAT, within the courses of motion and sound design and digital technologies. Integrated into the March Youth 2026 programme and within the dynamics of the project CECAM – Center of Excellence for Pedagogical Innovation in Cinema and Media Arts, the event highlights project-based learning approaches and active pedagogical practices that stimulate students’ self-knowledge and critical reflection on their creative processes.

Objectives
- Highlight pedagogical innovation practices in motion and sound design and digital technologies, with a focus on project-based learning.
- Promote students’ self-retrospection and self-knowledge through the public presentation and discussion of their projects.
- Bring higher education closer to young audiences, particularly secondary school students from the region, within the context of March Youth.
- Contribute to the dissemination of the activities of the CECAM project, strengthening the connection between cinema, media arts and design.
Information about the showcase
The showcase takes place from March 15 to April 16, 2026, in an intimate space at ISMAT, creating an environment conducive to experiencing and discussing the presented works. During this period, the public is invited to explore different narrative and experimental approaches, where image, sound and digital technologies intersect in exploratory and self-reflective practices.
On April 16, between 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm, a conversation between lecturers involved in these pedagogical practices will take place in the ISMAT auditorium, in a hybrid format (in-person and via Teams). The meeting will bring together perspectives on creation, teaching and research in image, cinema, design and media arts, based on the following topics:
