ISMAT Day celebrates merit, graduates, and the academic community, reinforcing the institution's mission and values.
ISMAT Day is an annual ceremony of great institutional significance, dedicated to celebrating, recognising, and valuing the educational, scientific, and social mission of the Manuel Teixeira Gomes Higher Institute (ISMAT).
The event aims to foster a sense of belonging within the academic community, strengthen ties between students, graduates, academic staff, employees, partner organisations, and civil society, while highlighting ISMAT’s contribution to regional, national, and international development.
Its main objectives include:
- Marking and celebrating the successful academic journeys of students who have completed their study cycles through the formal presentation of their diplomas.
- Recognising the merit, effort, dedication, and academic excellence of graduates.
- Reaffirming ISMAT’s identity, values, and institutional mission as a higher education institution committed to quality education, research, and innovation.
- Showcasing the institution’s achievements, projects, and strategic outlook, promoting its future development.
- Strengthening relationships between ISMAT, its alumni, students’ families, employers, institutional partners, and the wider community.
- Promoting opportunities for meetings, social interaction, and networking among the various members of the academic community. Valuing the role of higher education as a driver of personal, professional, cultural, and social development.
The ceremony therefore assumes an academic, institutional, and social dimension, serving as a moment of collective celebration, recognition of merit, and affirmation of ISMAT’s role in educating qualified professionals and active citizens in society.
