ISMAT invites you to live a unique experience to learn more about our institution, the courses available and the future possibilities that await you. During these days, you'll be able to attend lectures, take part in workshops, explore our facilities and clarify all your doubts with teachers and students.
You will have direct contact with ISMAT's academic dynamics, experiencing practical and interactive activities that will allow you to realise which course is most aligned with your interests and aspirations. - Workshop on Fundamentals of Financial Education: Planning and Intelligent Investment
- Organiser: Dr. João Paulo Lopes (Business Management)
Objectives: To sensitise participants to the importance of financial literacy; To teach basic concepts of personal financial management; To demonstrate how to make informed investment decisions.
Workshop structure: Introduction; Personal Financial Management - Budget, Savings and Emergency Reserve; Investment Fundamentals; Conclusion and Practical Tips: Simple tips to start organising personal finances; Space for questions and answers.

ISMAT's Department of Architecture, Arts and Design is organising four laboratories, with the specificities of the Department's different courses (Architecture; Communication Design; Fashion Design and Production; Design for the Circular Economy), namely: 3D printLAB; bioLAB; digitalLAB; and LAB industrial embroidery.
The four workshops run in rotation (30 minutes each) and participants do the 4 labs.

- Workshop on NLP in Education: Turning Potential into Results
- Organiser: Dr. João Paulo Lopes (Business Management)
Objectives: To show how Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) can be applied to improve the teaching and learning process; To teach practical NLP techniques to increase performance, improve communication and create a more effective educational environment; To inspire students and teachers to explore strategies that turn challenges into opportunities.
Workshop structure: Introduction; Brief explanation of what NLP is and its origins; Benefits of NLP in education for teachers and students: improving focus, motivation and communication; Examples of practical success stories involving NLP in the educational context; Connection and Communication; Rapport: How to create empathy and connection with colleagues and students through simple techniques; Positive Language: The impact of words on behaviour and motivation; Practical activity: Pairing up and identifying verbal and non-verbal communication patterns.

- Workshop on programming a quiz video game, integrating Artificial Intelligence.
- Organiser: Prof. Tiago Candeias (Computer Engineering)
Presentation: The idea is to develop a video game about general culture questions, in the style of Trivial Pursuit, in which the challenge is for the player to get as many successive questions right as possible and beat their record. If you don't get it right, at least you'll acquire new knowledge. Instead of using a database of general culture questions, we're going to ask an Artificial Intelligence model to create questions for our game. The workshop is carried out step by step, using programming, and you don't need any prior knowledge of the subject. All you need is a willingness to learn, work as a team and get into the engineer's spirit to develop something new.
Main objectives: Understand what programming is; Understand the potential of using Artificial Intelligence; Define strategies for solving a challenge; Create functions programmatically to solve tasks.

- Creative itineraries: Designing tourist experiences

The main aim of this activity is to develop participants' creativity and strategic thinking, encouraging them to plan innovative tourist itineraries that value local culture, promote sustainability and encourage inclusion.
Aimed at students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades, as well as vocational schools, the initiative demonstrates the importance of tourist itineraries as a strategic tool for enhancing and promoting the potential of regions.

This practical and interactive workshop is designed to help students understand and manage the anxiety associated with exams. We'll cover effective strategies for reducing stress before exams, staying focused and calm during exams, and regaining confidence and well-being after exams. Through relaxation, organisation and emotional management techniques, participants will acquire the tools to face academic challenges with greater peace of mind and confidence.

The workshop will present the main objectives of personal marketing for young people, aimed at promoting skills, values and image in a strategic way, in different contexts, such as at school, on social networks or at work. Personal marketing involves self-knowledge, effective communication, a professional attitude and alignment between words and actions. It's important to value your strengths, cultivate healthy relationships and develop a personal brand that is coherent with your personal goals.

- Challenge Yourself: Create a Startup in 60 Minutes

If you're a secondary school student from the region, you like management and business, you're enthusiastic about teamwork, this activity is for you!
We challenge you to create an innovative business idea in 60 minutes, including a name, target audience, marketing strategy and business model. At the end, you present your pitch to a panel of evaluators.
We aim to stimulate creativity and entrepreneurial thinking; demonstrate the basic principles of how to turn an idea into a business model; and give you a practical and fun experience in business management. And, of course, we have a prize for you.

- Dating Violence

This workshop aims to sensitise young people and professionals to the issue of dating violence, addressing warning signs, forms of abuse (physical, psychological, emotional and digital) and prevention and intervention strategies. Through a practical and reflective approach, participants will be able to identify abusive behaviour, promote healthy relationships and support victims effectively.

- Trial simulation presented by ISMAT's law degree course.
- Organisers: Prof. Alberto Sá e Melo, Master Cláudia Boloto, Master Vanessa Mamedes (Law)
Presentation: The ISMAT Law course is presenting a proposal for a mock trial in the field of criminal law, which will involve the participation of students and teachers from the various academic years. The trial takes the form of a court hearing presided over by a judge and attended by the public prosecutor's office, the parties, their lawyers and witnesses. The purpose of this hearing is to produce evidence about the facts of the case, so that a judgement can be passed convicting or acquitting the accused of the offences.
The main objectives are: to make the ISMAT Law course known to young people in the municipality of Portimão; to demonstrate, on the one hand, the exercise of two important traditional legal professions - advocacy and the judiciary - and, on the other, the skills acquired by our students during the course of their degree.
