Second phase of the project dedicated to the study of the genocide process, addressing its phases, methods, architecture, propaganda, and ideological impact
The Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT) is organising, on 24 and 25 March, the second phase of the Project "Genocides: Knowing, Understanding, Preventing", which began on 27 January.
This event focuses on the study of the genocide process, addressing its phases and methods, as well as the material dimensions (architecture, space, organisation) and symbolic dimensions (propaganda, racist ideology).
The following aspects, among others, will be analysed:
- Concentration camps and "death factories"
- The architecture of genocide and its functions
- Propaganda and mass mobilisation
- The dissemination of racist ideology
- The relationship between genocide and slavery
