ISMAT Hosts Exhibition Honoring Architect Nuno Portas

The university’s main hall hosts the exhibition "Nuno Portas Visual Glossary," featuring work developed by second-year students from ISMAT’s Integrated Master’s in Architecture (MIA) during the Project IV course (2025-2026 academic year). The exhibition also extends to Room 2.1, which displays architectural drawings of the iconic Barata dos Santos House in Vila Viçosa, alongside portraits of Nuno Portas crafted by the students.

Coordinated by Professor Cláudia Gaspar, PhD, and Mário Luz, Master, the initiative offers an immersion into Nuno Portas' life, work, and architectural philosophy. Through drawing and visual representation, the future architects explored geometry, housing, and Portas' impact on national urban culture. The exhibition showcases MIA ISMAT’s dedication to hands-on learning and the appreciation of Portuguese architectural heritage.
