First-hand testimonies helped second-year students understand the dynamics and real impact of therapeutic groups.

On May 19th, the second-year ISMAT Psychology class of Psychology of Interpersonal Relations and Group Dynamics welcomed two representatives from Alcoholics Anonymous of Portimão. The main goal of the meeting was to bring students closer to the practical reality and functioning of self-help groups.

During the session, the guests shared powerful life stories and explained how group dynamics serve as a fundamental pillar in the process of recovery and social reintegration. This experience provided future psychologists with a deeper and more empathetic understanding of the importance of therapeutic groups, highlighting how interpersonal bonds and shared experiences can act as catalysts for change and healing in mental health.
