The screening of the film Noites Claras brought together students, teachers and experts for an enriching debate on mental health, sexuality and motherhood
On 9 April, an activity entitled CINEPSI: LIGHT, CAMERA AND ANALYSIS took place. This activity followed a challenge from Ukbar films to the Psychology course (ISMAT's Department of Psychology and Physical Education) to hold a film screening, followed by a debate, with the presentation of the film ‘Noites Claras’ by Paulo Filipe Monteiro.
The session took place in ISMAT's auditorium and was attended by Psychology students from daytime and post-labour classes and some teachers. In total there were around 45 people in the room/auditorium to watch the film and take part in the debate, which involved professionals who are specialists and/or have relevant experience in the field of mental health, the psychology of sexuality and the psychology of pregnancy and maternity.
Feedback on the activity was very positive. Those present were actively involved in the debate and expressed great interest in repeating this type of event.
We are grateful for the opportunity Ukbar Films has given us to create a moment of sharing and growth through this link between cinema and psychology.
