An Amazing Week with Bemposta School Students at the “Ousar” Project Bootcamp!
It was five intense, creative, and transformative days with 120 students from Bemposta School, organised into 18 groups, during the idea acceleration Bootcamp of the “Ousar” project.
This journey was designed to stimulate critical thinking, creativity, and social innovation, with a programme co-created alongside Professor Susana Leonor, director of the Communication Design degree at ISMAT.
What happened each day?
- Day 1: The groups dived into insights gathered from diagnostics and interviews carried out during the previous phase.
- Day 2: Mapping of certainties, doubts, and assumptions, followed by research using secondary data.
- Day 3: Definition of key questions, stimuli, and divergent ideation moments to generate innovative solutions.
- Day 4: Time to experiment, prototype, and converge ideas, culminating in the creation of the project Brands.
- Day 5: Systematisation of proposals and sharing with valuable feedback from 3rd-year students of the Design degree at ISMAT.
The atmosphere was simply fantastic, hosted in an equally special space: the auditorium of the Centro Paroquial do Amparo, in Portimão. Our sincere thanks to Father Rui for his hospitality, kindness, and generosity. What an incredible space we have in Portimão — it truly deserves to be lived to the fullest!
We also had a very special visit: Professor Jorge Lopes, director of BIOLAB at PUC-Rio (Brazil), who captivated the students with his internationally awarded innovations, blending design, technology, medicine, culture, and art. He also brought immersive augmented reality experiences with interactive glasses — an unforgettable moment for everyone!
It was a tiring week, but full of achievements. The groups developed creative and meaningful proposals, which now move on to the improvement and finalisation stage in the third phase of the Ousar Project.
A huge thank you to the teaching staff of Bemposta School and to Professor Ana Mariano for her tireless work, dedication, and inspiration. Our heartfelt thanks!
