Professor Sílvia Rebouças highlights the role of data in decision-making within Brazilian public administration.
Professor Silvia Pedro Rebouças, PhD, Director of the Data Science Degree Program at ISMAT, was invited to deliver the keynote lecture for the Professional Master's Program in Public Administration (PROFIAP) at the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophony (UNILAB), in Ceará, Brazil.
The presentation, entitled "Data Science for Decision-Making in Public Administration," highlighted the role of quantitative methods, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics in improving the efficiency, transparency, and quality of decisions in the public sector. The session emphasized the importance of transforming administrative data into structured information and actionable knowledge, capable of supporting evidence-based and citizen-oriented public policies.
