Within the framework of the "Cabinet de Curiosité" project, students analyzed the lifestyles of 3,000-year-old societies to enhance their creative process.
As part of the Design Office II course unit, students took part in a visit to Alcalar במסגרת the development of the Cabinet de Curiosité project.
The initiative aimed primarily to encourage reflection on the traces of a civilisation that inhabited that territory around 3,000 years ago, allowing students to deepen their perspective on the ethnographic study of the behaviours, structures, and ways of life of societies.
The visit represented an important moment of direct contact with the historical and archaeological context, strengthening the relationship between observation, interpretation, and the construction of critical thinking within the design process. In this way, the experience sought to stimulate new readings among students on how objects, spaces, and material traces can reveal cultural and social dimensions of past communities.
The activity was guided by archaeologist Rui Parreira and accompanied by Professor Susana Leonor, helping to enrich the students’ reflection through a specialised and situated perspective
