Objetivos de Desenvoltimento Sustentável (ODS)

The initiative analyzed the application of new digital technologies in the safeguarding, study, and valorization of textile and fashion heritage.

On May 18th, a seminar dedicated to the digitalization of costumes in a museum context was held, led by professor Clara Pache.

During the session, the main methods and stages of the garment digitalization process were presented, ranging from technical recording to digital representation.

Participants also had the opportunity to follow the practical application of these procedures, allowing for a deeper understanding of all phases of the process.

The activity highlighted the importance of digitalization in the preservation, documentation, and study of textile heritage, contributing to new forms of access, research, and promotion of fashion within a museum context.

The presented process is part of the professor's PhD research and allowed students to discover new perspectives for professional development, demonstrating how the articulation between research, fashion design practice, and digital technologies can open up opportunities in emerging and highly specialized fields.
