ISMAT lecturers address the theme ‘Sustainability, what challenges for the community?’

ISMAT lecturers, Américo Mateus and Miguel Portugal, participated in the seminar "Sustainability, what challenges for the community?"
Organised by the Teia d’Impulsos Association, the event took place on March 14th at the Café-Concerto do TEMPO – Municipal Theatre of Portimão.
The event, held to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the association, featured experts, university lecturers, and senior executives from companies, who discussed different dimensions of sustainability through three presentations and two roundtables.
The first roundtable, on the theme "Sustainability of cities and the quality of life of citizens", explored «the strategies and initiatives necessary to make cities more sustainable while ensuring a better quality of life for their inhabitants». It featured contributions from Professor Américo Mateus, Psychologist Isa Silvestre, and Architect Marco Rodrigues from ARQ10, and was moderated by Hugo Rodrigues, journalist at Sul Informação.
The second roundtable, which focused on the theme “Trends in sustainability in business models and green jobs”, presented perspectives on how companies are adapting to more sustainable practices and the growing importance of green jobs in the labour market. This roundtable included contributions from Madalena Feu from IEFP, Anabela Rodrigues from DUAL in Portimão, Célia Meira, Marketing and Branding Strategist at Hotel Ombria Algarve, and Ricardo Coelho, Founder of Salivitae. The session was moderated by Professor Miguel Portugal.
