ISMAT Takes Research on Physical Exercise and Obesity to the 32nd National Congress of Internal Medicine

On May 22nd, the 1st Meeting of the institution's new Advisory Committee took place at the Regional Directorate of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth, in Faro. Representing ISMAT was Professor Rui Batalau, Director of the Bachelor's Degree in Sports Sciences at ISMAT, who was invited to become a Member of the Advisory Committee of the Algarve Football Association.

This event brought together a group of well-known figures with recognized careers in Algarve and national sports, including former managers, coaches, referees, and other agents linked to the sports modalities.

This new working group was created with the purpose of promoting a broad, participatory, and strategic vision for the development of football and futsal in the Algarve, contributing experience, knowledge, and different perspectives on the current and future challenges of the sector.

Throughout the meeting, several structural topics were debated, including competitive models and the organization of competitions, the current reality of football and futsal in the Algarve, the challenges of youth academies, the growth of women's football, as well as strategies for the sustained development of these sports, both in senior and youth development contexts.

The creation of this Advisory Committee reinforces the AFA's commitment to a close, reflective, and strategic planning approach, involving different backgrounds and experiences to enhance the value and growth of district football and futsal.
