At the invitation of MEP Isilda Gomes, the faculty members analyzed the Erasmus+ program and advocated for increased funding for academic mobility.
Last May 2026, ISMAT's faculty members, professors Margarete Arbugeri, Luiz Guerrazzi, Vanessa Vasconcelos Scazziota, and Maria Lígia Jardim do Nascimento Pires Brás, joined an official delegation visiting the European Parliament, responding to the prestigious invitation extended by MEP Isilda Gomes.
The highlight of this institutional meeting focused on the strategic analysis of the Erasmus+ program, where the expansion of financial resources allocated to this framework of transnational mobility was strongly and urgently advocated.
The faculty members emphasized that enhancing participation opportunities — for both students and professors — is imperative given the structural role they play in scientific development.
The strengthening of this cooperation ecosystem will ultimately result in a clear societal benefit, maximizing the return of academic knowledge for the progress and cohesion of the community.
