Promoted by the Bachelor's degree in Sports Sciences and the Dar Amor Association, the event addressed prevention, sedentary behavior, and the benefits of physical exercise.

ISMAT, through its Bachelor's degree in Sports Sciences, co-organized the seminar titled "Oncological Disease: A Diagnosis is Not a Destiny," which took place on September 25th at the Portimão Museum.

This event was organized in partnership with the Dar Amor Association and received collaboration from the Portimão City Council.

Through an interdisciplinary perspective, oncological disease was addressed from a medical standpoint in the context of clinical exercise, while also considering equally vital fields such as physiotherapy and psychology.

The director of the Bachelor's degree in Sports Sciences, Prof. Dr. Rui Batalau, served as one of the event's moderators and delivered a presentation on risk factors for oncological disease, focusing on physical activity and sedentary lifestyles.

A notable mention goes to PhD candidate Pedro Ramos from Universidade Lusófona, who discussed the benefits of clinical exercise in oncological disease and introduced ALMA - Algarve and Alentejo Association for Oncological Multidisciplinary Support.
