Moisés Oliveira, Communication Design student, wins the Red Dot Award with the project “Bio-Blocks”, highlighting innovation and sustainability

ISMAT – Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes is proud to announce that Moisés Oliveira, a student of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design, has been awarded the Red Dot Award, one of the most prestigious international awards in the field of design, for the project “Bio-Blocks”.

The project explores biodesign and sustainability solutions, proposing new materials and systems that address contemporary environmental challenges. Combining research, experimental practice, and critical thinking, “Bio-Blocks” demonstrates how design can act as a transformative agent, integrating technological innovation, social impact, and ecological concerns.

This distinction reinforces the global vision of the ISMAT Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design, which focuses on methodologies centered on innovation, sustainability, and experimentation with biomaterials. The recognition of Moisés Oliveira's work highlights students’ ability to create solutions aligned with the bioeconomy, regenerative design, and international sustainable development agendas.

ISMAT congratulates the student and thanks the teaching teams and partners who contributed to the development of “Bio-Blocks”.
