In a partnership with Escola Nuno Mergulhão, ISMAT's Fashion Design course presents collections focused on sustainability.
The Bachelor's degree course in Fashion and Textile Design and Production at ISMAT partnered with Escola Engenheiro Nuno Mergulhão for the 3rd edition of the “Mergulhão Eco-Fashion Show”.
Under the theme "Art in Motion", the initiative raised awareness among 8th-grade students regarding the impacts of fast fashion, promoting upcycling and sustainability. Active Learning in Three Phases
The collaboration developed dynamically throughout the school year:
- 1st Term: Students from ISMAT's bachelor's degree visited the school to share perspectives on sustainable fashion;
- 2nd Term: The 8th-grade students visited ISMAT, getting firsthand experience with the university environment;
- 3rd Term: ISMAT faculty members conducted a Sustainable Accessories Workshop to support the creation of the pieces.
"Creativity on the Runway" - The project culminated on June 1st with a special fashion show. The students themselves took on the role of models, proudly presenting the outfits and eco-friendly accessories they developed throughout the year.
Impact: Through this partnership, ISMAT reinforces its connection to the community, supporting projects that bridge practical creativity with the development of conscious and responsible citizens.
