ISMAT reinforces its strategic role in the development of regional sports through the representation of the Sports Sciences degree.
ISMAT was represented at the 32nd National Congress of Internal Medicine, one of the country's most prominent healthcare events, held from May 21st to 23rd at the Lagoa Congress Centre. The institutional participation was part of the congress's scientific program, reinforcing higher education and sports science's contribution to discussing clinical solutions for public health.
On May 23rd, ISMAT's intervention was featured in the panel "Round Table 13 | Back to Basics - Lifestyle in the Treatment of Obesity." The presentation was delivered by Professor Rui Batalau, PhD, Director of ISMAT’s Sports Science degree, who introduced the topic "What Role for Physical Exercise?". Throughout the session, the professor shared insights and scientific data on the decisive impact of structured physical activity as a therapeutic tool against obesity, fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue between medicine and sports sciences.
