The PhD was completed in her area of expertise, Sports Management
Lecturer Sónia Picamilho, from the Bachelor's degree in Sports Sciences at the Instituto Superior Manuel Teixeira Gomes, in the Course Unit of Organisation and Management of Sports Entities, recently reached an important milestone in her academic career by completing her PhD at the University of Évora, in her area of expertise, Sports Management.
Her doctoral thesis, titled "High-Performance Support Units in Schools: Management Model and Impacts on Dual Careers", innovatively and thoroughly addressed the intersection between high-performance sport and education. This work presented a management model aimed at high-performance support units in schools, exploring the direct impacts on career management, that is, the balance between high-level sports practice and the academic path of young athletes.
The relevance of the research was recognised with the highest classification: "Approved with Distinction and Praise".
