The article by João Pedro Portugal and Maria Inês Galvão analyzes how different nature experiences influence tourists' pro-environmental attitudes.
ISMAT professors João Pedro Portugal and Maria Inês Galvão recently published the scientific article titled “Between Caves, Cliffs and the Sea: Why Not All Nature-Based Tourism Experiences Support Pro-Environmental Attitudes” in the prestigious Journal of Ecotourism.
The publication, indexed in the first quartile (Q1) of the Scopus database, was also co-authored by Arthur Araújo, a professor at Universidade Lusófona do Porto.
The study investigates the relationship between nature-based tourism and visitors' environmental behavior, aiming to understand why not all experiences in cave, cliff, and marine environments lead to the reinforcement of pro-environmental attitudes.
Publication in this important international reference journal consolidates ISMAT's commitment to scientific research excellence and the sustainable development of the tourism sector in the Algarve and nationwide.
