20 years after the 1st edition, the author, Patrícia Araújo, has just launched the second edition of the work “SER PSICÓLOGO: Ciência, Prática, Presença e Futuro” (BEING A PSYCHOLOGIST: Science, Practice, Presence, and Future).
Almost two decades after the publication of the first edition, the book returns to the market in a revised version, significantly expanded and enriched by the author's field experiences.
The new edition combines scientific rigor, professional experience, and personal reflections, aiming to enlighten the path of professionals and students in the field, as well as to deconstruct persistent myths about the profession.
While maintaining the original content of the 1st edition, this volume introduces new chapters and addresses key contemporary challenges, such as the ethical integration of Artificial Intelligence in psychology, HR Marketing, Employer Branding, organizational happiness, contemplative sciences, and meditative practices, including mindfulness, alongside deep reflections on scientific practice and the future of the profession.
Through a language that blends rigor with touches of humor and real-world examples, the work explores science as a foundation, practice across multiple contexts, and human presence as the true essence of the psychological act.
It serves as a practical and inspiring guide for psychologists, students, and anyone interested in human behavior. The book launch took place at the ISMAT library, hosted by presenter and library director Pedro Cantinho Pereira.
