The FAZER + Program is a Science and Innovation Support Program aimed at supporting and rewarding activities and projects that strengthen research and innovation capacity within Lusófona Education institutions.
The program consists of 1 competition and 3 awards:
- Research Excellence Competition;
- Award for Best Innovative Pedagogical Practice;
- Award for Good Research Practices in Teaching;
- Lusófona University Scientific Publications Award.

Research Excellence Competition
Presentation
The competition aims to fund innovative projects, preferably with a strong interdisciplinary component in any field of knowledge, which may lead to larger-scale projects to be later submitted for national or international funding and/or patent applications or other intellectual property registrations.
Available Budget
The allocated amount is one hundred thousand euros (€100,000).
Maximum Funding Amount per Project
The maximum funding amount per application is fifty thousand euros (€50,000).

Award for Best Innovative Pedagogical Practice
Presentation
The Award aims to recognize the integration of innovative practices into the curricular content of units at any level of education, promoting transversal, active, and collaborative learning based on face-to-face, distance, or blended teaching/learning systems, with the goal of stimulating self-learning and inclusive education.
Maximum Funding Amount per Project
The award amount for individual applications is five thousand euros (€5,000).
The award amount for group applications is eight thousand euros (€8,000).

Award for Good Research Practices in Teaching
Presentation
The Award aims to recognize the best processes for integrating R&D practices into course unit content, promoting students’ immersion in research and development activities.
Maximum Funding Amount per Project
The award amount per application is €5,000 (five thousand euros).
The amount may be awarded individually or to the group of winning lecturers.

Lusófona University Scientific Publications Award
Presentation
The Award aims to recognize scientific research activity and encourage publication practices in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and publishers (Q1).
Maximum Funding Amount per Project
The award amount per application is €250 (two hundred and fifty euros).

Additional Information
The present regulations operate in conjunction with the COFAC Research Grants Regulations or the FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology) Research Grants Regulations, for contracting within the scope of the Research Excellence Competition.
