Understanding the Past to Build a Future of Peace and Justice
On May 6th, a group from the Instituto do Emprego e Formação Profissional de Portimão visited the Multimedia Exhibition on Genocides held at ISMAT's facilities. This exhibition, inaugurated on January 27th, is part of the "Genocides Project: Know, Understand, Prevent", which aims to raise awareness about the importance of historical memory and the prevention of future atrocities.
The visit was led by Dr. Liliana Ferreira, with the active participation of Professor Pedro Cantinho Pereira, Dr. Liliana Caldeira, and interns Joana Alegria and Valério Ampa, who accompanied the students throughout the tour. The exhibition offers a carefully curated selection of informational posters, photographs, multimedia videos, and panels depicting genocides from the 20th and 21st centuries, with a special focus on the Holocaust.
