Buildings III

Architecture
  • ApresentaçãoPresentation
This course consists of studying passive and active techniques to minimize all energy costs using bioclimatic architecture, as well as studying the geometry of sunlight and natural lighting. It will also cover room acoustics and design arrangements in accordance with current Portuguese legislation.

  • ObjectivosObjectives
Complement acoustics skills acquired in Buildings II. Understand and define solutions to improve the thermal performance of existing buildings. Ability to integrate passive thermal control techniques into the architectural designs of new buildings. Characterize and evaluate the performance of different solutions during the architectural design phase from the perspectives of sunlight and natural lighting, and design solutions. Understand the acoustic performance of buildings and know how to intervene. Interpret the corresponding regulatory requirements and design architectural solutions.
