Creative Computing II

  The Curricular Unit of Creative Computing II explores Editorial Design and printed publications. Students in this course will have contact with software associated with editorial production as well as its production and materialization. Additionally, they will become acquainted with characteristics related to issues of printed editorial, from the medium itself, typography, images, grids, layouts, to issues of information hierarchy.

  - Analysis of printed materials, such as: magazines, newspapers, mixed editorials; - Critical analysis of editorial composition through graphic references; - Construction/Design of grids and layouts from printed materials, in an analog format; - Editorial nomenclatures; - Differentiation between editorial typologies; - Typographical grids; - Typology of existing and possible grids; - Symmetry and Asymmetry; - Compositions typographic; - Typographical rules; - Typographic characteristics; - Differentiation of printed typography and digital typography; - Rules of layout and text bodies; - Importing direct files; - Tuning files; - Exporting files; - Preparation and final art.
• ObjectivosObjectives

  The UC Creative Computing II is based on Editorial Design and its extensions. At the beginning of this course the student will have contact with various materials such as newspapers, magazines, books, among other examples, with the purpose of awakening in students the analytical and critical look about what makes up an editorial. Subsequently, will be explored and developed skills that will make students understand the entire construction of an editorial, from the creation of layout / grids, through good practices of print and digital printing, reaching the post-production and printing of an edition itself.
