Fundamentals of Law

  The main objective of the Fundamental Notions of Law course is provide students beginning the business management program with a broad understanding of the legal system, its institutions and how they function, through a set of fundamental concepts. the course introduces students to law in general, clarifying its position within social and economic system, its relationships with the State and its constitutional established contend. It aims to introduce students to legal reasoning.  Given the study cycle, special attention is paid to the general legal foundations of the functioning of economic and financial institutions. The objective is not to train jurists, but rather managers capable of understanding the legal context in witch they operate, making informed decisions and avoid legal risks. The course also provide some elements of comparative law.

  Understanding the role of law in modern Western societies and its main divisions, with emphasis on the branches of law most closely linked to economic and financial activities. Abitlity to use and sources, interpretation, apply legislation, framing factual situations within legal rules. Ability to solve pratical cases. Ability to understand the differences between legal systems.

• MetodologiaMethodology

  Teaching is based on a distinction between theorical and pratical classes. Theorical classes focus primarily on presenting the conceptual and stuctural dimensions of the legal subjects in question. In practical classes the subjects are viewed from a pragmatic perspective through the discussion and resolution of pratical cases both imagined or real. The combination of these approaches fosters the development and consolidation of reflective, analytical and critical skills.  Students with a special status stipulated by law or regulation tha stipulates that class attendance is not mandatory but who wish to be included in the continuous assessment system must inform the course instructor as soon as they become aware of this but always 90 days before the end of classes so that the instructor can define form of work or monitoring which may include a report presentation snd/or an oral exam.
