    Undestanding how to work with criminal law is fundamental in the training of all jurists. The most common academic path in Portuguese Universities is followed here: the Criminal Law I curricular unit covers the introduction to criminal law, the theory of criminal law and starts the study of the general theory of crime. After that, the Criminal Law II curricular unit continues the study of the general theory of crime.

    The Criminal Law I curricular unit aims to lay the foundations for a critical and solid work with criminal law (constitutional, dogmatic, political-criminal and interdisciplinary foundations), which will allow the adequate resolution of practical cases. The Criminal Law I curricular unit begins the treatment of the theory of crime, up to the actus reus (the remaining matters of the theory of crime are covered in the Criminal Law II curricular unit).
