ISMAT 90

Project I

Architecture
  • ApresentaçãoPresentation
Project Studio I focus on the first approach to the design process in Architecture and seeks to develop in students the ability to perceive, analyse and build space. It has a strong practical component and seeks to implement the learning process that promotes in students the ability to develop an "Architectural Mindset" based on manuality and critical and creative ability.
  • ProgramaProgramme
Project Studio I is developed over 15 academic weeks, which will be organized to allow, throughout the semester, theoretical, theoretical-practical and practical classes to be articulated. The class schedule presupposes a case-by-case approach to relevant conjunctural issues for the didactics of the discipline raised by the students and the teacher, in a dynamic of work in Office. Theoretical Classes: Presentation of formative and informative themes, based on rhetoric and critical production of images; Theoretical-practical classes: Participation in study visits, seminars, workshops, critical discussion of theoretical classes and in the discussion of works produced by students; Practical Classes: Tutorial monitoring of individual and group work developed by students.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
Provide students with the tools to respond to the proposed challenges, able to develop concepts of architectural design, which add as visual concerns to its composition, formalization and scaling, from the user's point of view, with a generic approach to the problematic of Architecture, as well as how to acquire mastery of basic graphic representation tools (two and three-dimensional).

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    1. The work to be developed with the students is structured in a tutorial teaching. 2. Students are regularly encouraged to develop research according to the different approaches inherent to project development and methodology. 3. In a joint laboratory with the Constructive Systems UC, students develop a group project. 3. Assessment is continuous and values the active participation of students in classes, which will work on Studio basis. 4. It is a minimum condition for the student to have a positive evaluation that he has performed the proposed exercises in a satisfactory and assiduous way. 5. Students’ assessment is valued by their participation in extracurricular activities proposed throughout the semester.   Attendance and participation: 10% Exercise 1: 50% Exercise 2: 20% Group work: 15% (one week challenge) Extracurricular Activities: 5% Attendance is mandatory for 75% of classes
