ApresentaçãoPresentationThe Specialization in Exercise and Health is an advanced curricular unit that aims to provide students with complex specialized knowledge and skills for future professional intervention in several contexts, particularly those where physical exercise is viewed within the framework of health-related quality of life, focusing on disease prevention in healthy adults, non-pharmacological complementary treatment of numerous chronic pathologies, and the assessment and prescription of exercise in special conditions and phases of life. Thus, through the acquisition of knowledge and technical skills in assessment, exercise prescription, and its monitoring/follow-up, the aim is to equip students with a superior capacity for professional intervention.

ObjectivosObjectivesLO1: Know and apply the international physical and functional assessment protocols for adults, the elderly and for people with chronic pathologies and special conditions (eg. pregnant women). LO2: Know and apply the physical exercise recommendations depending on each condition/pathology, namely, recommendations related to cardiorespiratory training, strength training and joint mobility training. LO3: Know and apply advanced personalized intervention techniques: systematic touch training and training with manual resistance. LO4: Know and apply the different materials/equipment for strength training: machines, free weights, suspension, medicine balls, "Vipr", "rip training", and others. LO5: Know and apply the fundamentals of integrated training. LO6: Know and operationalize the different planning and periodization models of training.
