ApresentaçãoPresentationThe Basketball Curriculum is part of the 1st cycle of the Degree in Sport Sciences, the scientific area Physical Education and Sport. The aim of this course is to make students acquire basic and updated knowledge on the main issues of Basketball, namely on its teaching. Thus, students should acquire skills to guide the teaching of the sport from its most basic contents to the formal game of 5x5, thus managing to adapt the knowledge acquired to the context in which they find themselves.

ObjectivosObjectivesThis Curricular Unit intends that students are able to: - Know the structural learning process of basketball. - Know the different individual and collective behavior patterns specific to Basketball. - Recognize the game as a fundamental mean of teaching, defining the strategies to be used depending on the level of quality of the student/athlete they lead. - To apply in situations of exercise and game, according to the profile of effective execution, the various individual and collective behavior patterns specific to Basketball.

MetodologiaMethodologyDuring the semester, students work in project based aproachs tasks, working in small groups on a project with a specified subject to create a final product. This encourages collaboration and critical thinking skills as they work through the problems. This collaborative learning is an approach that encourages students to work together in groups to solve problems and complete projects. It promotes teamwork and communication skills, providing students the opportunity to learn from their peers. During the classes it´s also used a inquiry based learning, in this type of instruction it´s asked questions and allowing students to explore the answers through research, experimentation, and discussion.
