ISMAT's Computer Engineering degree course trains graduates capable of taking on leading positions in computer engineering projects or in development and consultancy teams in the field of information systems engineering, taking on relevant roles in generating innovation and wealth through their training and attitude.
In this sense, students will obtain appropriate skills for designing, realising and maintaining computer systems, programming applications and developing systems, designing computer and communications architectures, managing information and knowledge systems, as well as understanding and solving the associated problems.
The course programme has been updated to respond to market needs and emerging areas.

Applicants to this cycle of studies are those who apply through the institutional access competition and have passed one of the sets of entrance exams:
16 Maths 07 Physics and Chemistry or 16 Maths 18 Portuguese or 16 Maths 04 Economics or 02 Biology and Geology 16 Maths or 10 Descriptive Geometry 16 MathsCandidates can also enter through the change of institution/course pair regime or through a Special Competition, in accordance with the legal rules in force (holders of a higher education degree, holders of a Technological Specialisation Course, holders of a Higher Professional Technical Course or over 23 years of age). Candidates who fulfil the conditions laid down in the International Student Statute may also enter.
